Join the Annie’s Art Gallery Family as we celebrate poetry and pay tribute to Amiri Baraka. All ages are welcomed to this free, family-friendly poetry Open Mic event. Bring your original tribute poem or come read some of his work from several books that will be on hand. Bring your favorite Baraka poem and let us know why the poem speaks to you. 
 
Help us pay tribute to this word warrior who gave so passionately to his craft and his people. Help us inform the youth about this giant of a poet who refused to be silenced, and perhaps hear what they think about his works.

Musicians are welcomed to help us partner poetry with a musical vibe as Bro. Amiri so often did. Come celebrate the life of a great poet!
