Welcome to the Prince George’s County, MD Department of Corrections. We provide a safe, secure and humane environment for pre-trial and sentenced offenders; Provide rehabilitative programs to inmates such as, education, juvenile services, religious services, domestic violence, barber styling school, nail technician, women’s empowerment, substance abuse drug treatment, and community re-entry.

Formalized in 1927 as a four-man County police force, today the Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) serves approximately 800,000 citizens throughout the County. In 2012, the Department answered close to 500,000 calls for service

The Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department (Fire/EMS) Department strives to improve the quality of life in Prince George’s County by promoting safety, and providing the highest quality of fire prevention, fire protection, emergency medical services, and community outreach programs.
