Four suspects are in custody in connection with an armored car robbery in Camp Springs. They are identified as 25-year-old Antonio Lamar Cooper of the 1700 block of Lyman Place in Northeast Washington, 21-year-old Maurice Lorenzo Foreman of no fixed address, 19-year-old Eugene Robert Watkins and 18-year-old Juwan Armarni Watkins, both of the 1500 block of 38^th Street in Southeast Washington.

On January 15, 2014, at about 11:00 am, patrol officers were called to the 4800 block of Allentown Road for an armored car robbery.  When they arrived on scene, patrol officers discovered that two armored truck employees had just been robbed.

The preliminary investigation reveals four suspects approached the victims as they were picking up money from a fast food restaurant.  One of the suspects served as the getaway driver, while the remaining three suspects confronted the victims.  The suspects took the victims’ duty weapons and stole an undetermined amount of money from the armored car.  The suspects then sped away.

Two good Samaritans, who witnessed the robbery, began to follow the fleeing suspects in their own pickup truck. The two men also called 911 and provided information on the suspects and their location.  The suspects noticed they were being followed while traveling down Allentown Road and onto Branch Avenue. Our preliminary investigation reveals that at least one of the suspects fired a gun toward the witnesses, hitting their truck multiple times.  The driver of the pickup truck, a former Marine, pulled off Branch Avenue and stopped following the suspects.  Thankfully, neither of the men were struck by gunfire.  The driver was taken to the hospital for injuries from shattered glass.
