PGCPS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS THROUGH MARCH 14 FOR ENTRY INTO CAREER ACADEMIES

Career Academies

Prince George’s County Public Schools is accepting applications now through March 14 for entry into a career academy program. Career Academies are in-boundary, open enrollment, four-year high school programs of study that prepare students to be both college and career ready.
Each Academy has a variety of “majors” from which students can choose in order to meet their interests and talents. Offerings include opportunities for students to graduate from high school as a licensed cosmetologist, air traffic controller, educational paraprofessional, or pharmacy technician amongst many others.
All 8th grade students will have the opportunity to complete an application for the academies available at their boundary high school. The applications should be completed with the students’ professional school counselor at their current middle school location.
An email notification will be sent home to parents when the application is complete. Parents should ensure that their contact information is up to date within the Parent Portal to ensure delivery of the email.
