There has been a rash of residential burglaries in the county. Please don’t answer your door for strangers, and report such activity to the police. A lot of the break-ins are occurring during the day, between 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

There has been a rash of thefts from auto and vandalism to auto (approximately 18) that has occurred during the overnight hours  in the area of Canterbury Way, Stratton Road and the 5400 Block of Temple Hills Road.  At this point, the suspect is an unknown black male slim build wearing black pants and a white shirt.  The suspect is operating a black luxury type vehicle with vehicle lights similar to a Cadillac DTS or CTS.  The suspects method of operation is to use an unknown object to break out the vehicle windows and steal property.  In some cases, the suspect would just vandalize the vehicle and take nothing.
