Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) public charter schools will be accepting online applications for the 2015-2016 school year from November 3, 2014 until January 30, 2015.

All Prince George’s County families can apply to a public charter school, as there are no attendance boundaries assigned to charter schools. Interested families must complete an online application at https://forms.pgcps.org/charters/ for each child they wish to enroll.

“We are always looking forward to the lottery process for our public charter schools,” said Loretta White-Khaalid, Executive Assistant, Office of Charter Schools at PGCPS. “The application process and open houses provide families with an opportunity to explore their options and make informed choices about the academic environment and structure they want for their child.”

Prospective public charter school families can attend one of the open houses below to find out more about PGCPS public charter schools:

Chesapeake Math & Information Technology (CMIT) – North
November 21: 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
December 6: noon – 1 p.m.

Chesapeake Math & Information Technology (CMIT) – South
November 14: 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
December 6: 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.

Chesapeake Math & Information Technology (CMIT) Elementary
November 19: 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
December 6: 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.

College Park Academy
November 18: 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
January 12, 2015: 6 – 7 p.m.

EXCEL Academy
November 19: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
January 13, 2015: 9 a.m – 1 p.m.

Imagine Foundations at Leeland
November 20: 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.

The admission lottery will be conducted electronically by the Department of Pupil Accounting and School Boundaries onFebruary 17, 2015. Parents will be notified the week of February 23, 2015.

Approximately, 7,800 applications were submitted last year.
