With the wintry mix of rain, sleet and snow forecasted for the Washington Metropolitan area later this evening, Prince George’s County will deploy approximately 140 trucks today at 5:00 p.m. to treat the roadways. County crews will work through the night to treat the primary and major collector roads and then move into the residential areas.
“The wintry mix forecasted for our area may coat the roadways and cause slippery road conditions,” said Darrell Mobley, Director of the Department of Public Works and Transportation. “Motorists are encouraged to drive safely and use caution when driving over ramps, bridges and overpasses.”
To report adverse road conditions, residents are encouraged to wait 12 hours after the precipitation has stopped before calling CountyClick at 311 or going to the Snow Request Form on the County’s website at www.princegeorgescountymd.gov.
