On December 5^th Branch Avenue is lighting up!  The Shops at Iverson will partner with local retail revitalization programBranch Avenue In Bloom (BAIB) as well as the Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) to host a three hour Christmas event called Lighting Up Branch Avenue.  The public will be invited to join in at the entrance at the Shops at Iverson parking lot as a countdown to the mall’s first public display of their holiday Christmas lights will commence.  Lighting Up Branch Avenue will also include other festivities such as Christmas caroling from local churches and community groups, free hot chocolate and cookies, and a group Christmas reading session provided by the Hillcrest Heights Library.  To usher in the countdown of the lights will be a guest appearance from Santa who will be escorted down Branch Avenue via firetruck.
