Reopen PGCPS: Specialty Programs Virtual Town Hall

Parents and legal guardians of students enrolled in Prince George’s County School Public Schools (PGCPS) specialty programs are invited to join us Wednesday, August 12 from 5:30 p.m. to  6:30 p.m. for a virtual town hall.

The town hall will offer updates and feature a moderated panel discussion answering questions on distance learning related to the following specialty programs:

  • Talented and Gifted
  • Language Immersion
  • Advanced Placement
  • International Baccalaureate
  • Dual Enrollment
  • Creative, Visual and Performing Arts
  • Career and Technical Education
  • Science and Technology
  • Aerospace Engineering and Aviation Technology

Les parents et les tuteurs légaux des élèves inscrits à un programme spécialisé des Écoles publiques du comté de Prince George (PGCPS) sont invités à se joindre à nous le mercredi 12 août de 17 h 30 à 18 h 30 pour une assemblée virtuelle.

La réunion publique apportera des mises à jour et comprendra un débat modéré, permettant de répondre aux questions sur l’apprentissage à distance liées aux programmes de spécialité suivants :

Pepco Team Emergency Alert

To our customers, we have been closely monitoring the path of Tropical Storm Isaias as heavy rain and high winds are projected to move to our Pepco service area.
In preparation of Tropical Storm Isaias, our employees and local contractors have inspected equipment, reviewed procedures and assembled staffing plans with additional customer care representatives available to ensure 24/7 support in response to potential impacts from the storm. In addition to internal line mechanics and other field workers, Pepco has local overhead line contractors and tree-trimming personnel available to assist in any restoration effort.

As Hurricane Storm Isaias is expected to enter our service area this evening, here’s what you can do right now to prepare before the storm hits.

If you experience a power outage or see a downed wire we encourage our customers to report the outage by visiting www.pepco.com/outage, by texting “OUT” to 48710 (customers must first text “ADD OUTAGE” to 48710 to sign-up for the service), or by calling 1-877-737-2662.
In the event that outages do occur, please know that crews will be working safely and as quickly as possible to restore power.
