As so many of our neighbors, friends, and fellow citizens are suffering due to the extreme financial hardships created by the government shutdown, I want to make sure that you are aware of Housing Initiative Partnership’s services and how you and your constituents can reach us for help.

HIP is a HUD-approved housing counseling agency which provides a full continuum of housing counseling and financial capability services. Our housing counselors are available, free of charge, to help clients work with their mortgage providers and landlords; address credit, debt, and savings concerns; and connect with necessary resources during this time of financial hardship. Below you will find contact information for our Prince George’s and Montgomery County Offices – if there is anything we can do to help your constituents at any time please encourage them to contact us as soon as possible.

Friday, January 18, 2019 — PGCPS — Code Orange: PGCPS schools and offices will open with a two-hour delay.

EMERGENCY PERSONNEL must report to work on time and are not eligible for liberal leave.

  • There will be no work-study transportation. (Those students should not report to school.)
  • There will be no half-day Early Childhood Center (ECC), half-day Special Education Programs, or half-day PreK.
  • Any other school program requiring transportation prior to 12 noon will NOT have transportation, including Howard B. Owens Science Center, JA Finance Park, and William S. Schmidt Center (Camp Schmidt)
  • All field trips will be cancelled.
  • Food Services will offer breakfast.

We will re-evaluate at 6:30 a.m.

Viernes, el 18 de enero — PGCPS— Código naranja: Las escuelas comenzarán dos horas después del horario normal.

El personal de emergencia no es eligible para tomar licencia liberal, y debe presentarse a trabajar puntualmente.
