NACE Public Engagement Steward Internship Opportunity

National Capital Parks-East

Internship Opportunity

Greetings,
Frederick Douglass was a national hero who’s historic home lies in the Anacostia neighborhood. Anacostia Park is a rich natural, historical and recreational park located along the banks of the Anacostia River and offers fun learning and inspiration for all.

Through a 17 week Greening Youth Foundation internship opportunity with National Capital Parks-East, an eager and passionate youth will be able to help us celebrate and uplift these sites in 2018 for the centennial of Anacostia Park and the bicentennial year of Frederick Douglass’s birth.

In partnership with Greening Youth Foundation, we are currently seeking a Public Engagement Steward that will assist with engaging and connecting the community to our park’s major anniversary celebrations.

Engagement efforts will include capturing and putting together stories of visitors and how they find meaning and connection to the park, generating social media content, working alongside our visitor services rangers, media outreach and direct community engagement.

In addition to earning a $240 per week stipend, the Public Engagement Steward will have the opportunity to be a part of history as our park’s celebrate these momentous occasions.
Find out more and apply directly through Greening Youth Foundation.
Visit http://serve.gyfoundation.org/ public-engagement-steward/ for more information on how to apply.
Application period closes January 31, 2018!
