Prince George’s County Announces Holiday Closings for Christmas Day

County offices, with the exception of public safety agencies, will close on Monday, December 26, 2022, in observance of the Christmas Day holiday

LARGO, MD – The Prince George’s County Department of the Environment (DoE) announces the following services and facilities will be closed or suspended on Monday, December 26, 2022:

heBus, a public transit service operated by the Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T), will operate a Saturday service schedule on Saturday, December 24, 2022, last trips at 4:00 p.m. to the end of the line.  TheBus will not operate on Sunday, December 25 and Monday, December 26, 2022. Regular operations of TheBus will resume on Tuesday, December 27, 2022.  Additionally, the County’s Call-A-Bus and PGC Link services, including dialysis transportation, will not operate on Sunday, December 25 and Monday, December 26, 2022. Regular operation services will resume on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. 

The Prince George’s County Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement (DPIE) will be closed on Monday, December 26, 2022. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, December 27, 2022.

Also, PGC311 will be closed on Monday, December 26, 2022, and will return to regular operations on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.  However, residents can still submit service/issue requests online at PGC311.com.

Holiday Lights Contest

PRINCE GEORGE’S COMMUNITY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION
HOLIDAY LIGHTS CONTEST DEADLINE DECEMBER 15TH

Prince George’s Community Federal Credit Union (PGCFCU) welcomes all holiday enthusiasts to show off their home lighting displays during their upcoming Holiday Lights Contest. With a $500 GIFT CARD grand prize, the credit union would like to promote the pride of the community and cheer during the season.

The PGCFCU Holiday Lights contest is open to all members and non-members of Prince George’s Community Federal Credit Union. Persons can register from now until December 15, 2022, 5pm. The voting period will run from December 17-28, 2022. Top prize is a $500 Gift Card: Second place: $100 Gift Card; Honorable mention: $25 Gift Card. Contestants must own or rent the submitted property in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

“We know Prince George’s County is full of avid home stagers that start preparing their holiday-themed displays early in the year. As we’re slowly moving out of the pandemic, we want to celebrate the season and spread some happiness this year. Holiday light displays always seem to place a smile on your face,” stated PGCFCU CMO, Sharmaine Bucknor.

Once the contest begins, holiday strollers, public light lovers, family, friends, neighbors, can vote for the top entry through the credit union’s text platform.  All entries will be placed on the Holiday Lights Drive Map and online.
