Prince George's County Police Dept

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Camp Springs early Monday morning. The victim is 56-year-old Sherry Lawrence of Mackson Drive in Camp Springs. She died of her injuries at a hospital on Thursday.

On April 8th, at approximately 6:25 am, patrol officers were called to the area of Allentown Road and Kingston Drive for a collision involving two cars. Lawrence was the sole occupant of one of the cars. The driver and three passengers in the second vehicle suffered what appear to be minor injuries. They have since all been released from the hospital.
The preliminary investigation reveals that Lawrence was traveling southbound on Allentown Road. The second involved car was heading northbound. For reasons that are under investigation, the second car crossed into the southbound lanes and struck Lawrence’s car head-on.
