Prince George’s County Announces Holiday Closings for Memorial Day

County government offices, except for public safety agencies, will be closed on

Monday, May 25, 2020, in observance of Memorial Day

LARGO, MD – The following offices, services, and facilities will be closed or suspended on Monday, May 25, 2020, in observance of Memorial Day. *NOTE: Some operations are currently suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Facility/Service

May 25

Animal Services Facility

(3750 Brown Station Road)

*The Animal Services Facility is closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  

Essential services provided by appointment ONLY include:

·       Return-to-owner: If your pet is at the Shelter, call 301-780-7241 to schedule an appointment to reclaim your pet.

 ·       Pet Surrenders: Owner surrenders in emergency situations should call 301-780-7242 to schedule an appointment.

Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill

Closed; will reopen to commercial/business customers ONLY on Tuesday, May 26.

 

*Closed to residents due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Brown Station Road Public Convenience Center

Closed; will reopen to residents that do not have County-contracted Residential Curbside Collection for disposal of regular household bagged trash and recyclables on Tuesday, May 26.

 

All trash should be bagged and tied securely

Electronics Recycling Acceptance Site

(Located at the Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill)

*Closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Household Hazardous Waste Acceptance Site

(Located at the Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill)

*Closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Missouri Avenue Solid Waste Acceptance and Recycling Center

Closed; will reopen to residents that do not have County-contracted Residential Curbside Collection for disposal of regular household bagged trash and recyclables on Tuesday, May 26.

 

All trash should be bagged and tied securely

Prince George’s County Organics Composting Facility

Closed; will reopen to commercial/business customers ONLY on Tuesday, May 26.

Prince George’s County Materials Recycling Facility (1000 Ritchie Road)

Closed; will reopen to commercial/business customers ONLY on Tuesday, May 26.

Bulky Trash Collection

(By appointment only)

Scheduled collections have been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Trash Collection in County-Contracted Areas

Regular collections occur Tuesday, May 26, 2020, through Friday, May 29, 2020.

 

All trash must be bagged and tied securely

Curbside Recycling Collection

Regular collections occur Tuesday, May 26, 2020, through Friday, May 29, 2020.

County Yard Trim Collections

No Collection

(Regular collections resume Monday, June 1, 2020).

TheBus, a public transit service operated by the Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T), will not operate on Monday, May 25, 2020. Regular COVID-19 operations of TheBus will resume on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. In addition, the County’s Call-A-Bus service, including dialysis transportation, will not operate on Monday, May 25, 2020. Regular COVID-19 operations of the Call-A-Bus services will resume on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. 

 

The Prince George’s County Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement (DPIE) will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2020.

 

Also, Prince George’s CountyClick 3-1-1 will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2020, and will resume regular operations on Tuesday, May 26, 2020; 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. However, residents can still submit service/issue requests online at www.countyclick311.com/.
