The Men’s Challenge – While Gyms Are Closed

Good Afternoon,

We are back!   The Department of Family Services is excited to announce the Summer Edition of the Men’s Challenge — Living Together Without Violence Initiative virtually.  If you attended any of the previous sessions, you will agree they were dynamic, informative and revealing discussions! The sessions engaged men and boys on topics like: Healthy Relationships, Legacy of Fatherhood, Veterans Affairs, Mentoring and Child Support.

The first session summer will be held on Monday, June 29th, 2020 at 5:30pm.  Acknowledging June as National Men’s Health Month, the discussion will be a Weight Management Workshop to encourage and support males to live longer and healthier lives.  Mr.  Rodney McIlwain will lead the discussion along with a few demonstrations.

  • Nutrition 101 (Calories in versus calories out)
  • What is Metabolism?
  • How to boost your metabolism.
  • Staying active during quarantine (limited access to gyms)
  • What to remove from your pantry?
  • The importance of sleep for weight management.
  • Q & A

Comfortable clothes and sneakers are recommended but not required.

Looking forward to seeing you next Monday, June 29th, 2020 at 5:30 p.m.  Please share the flyer and information with friends and colleagues. For more information, feel free to contact Mr. Elio via email EMWade@co.pg.md.us.

Stay safe and healthy!
