Due to ice accumulation and the inclement weather forecast for Friday, February 19, 2021, the Prince George’s County Department of the Environment advises residents that curbside collections of trash and recycling, as well as the opening of facilities, will be on a delayed schedule. Every attempt will be made to have all Thursday’s missed collections serviced on Friday, February 19th. Regular Friday collections and remaining Thursday collections will occur on Saturday, February 20th. The Department thanks residents for their continued patience while we work through the complexities of the adverse weather conditions.
Bulky trash appointments will also start on a delayed schedule. Missed bulky collections from Thursday, February 18 and any potential missed collections for Friday, February 19th, will be collected on Saturday, February 20th, or by Tuesday, February 23rd. The Department asks that residents keep their bulky items at the curb, if allowed by their homeowner’s association (HOA).
In addition, all services located at the Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill in Upper Marlboro, including the Brown Station Road Public Container Pad and Recycling Area, the Household Hazardous Acceptance Site, the Electronics Recycling Acceptance Site, scrap tire, and appliance disposal sites, Organic Composting Facility, the Missouri Avenue Solid Waste Acceptance and Recycling Center in Brandywine and the Materials Recycling Facility will open on a delayed schedule due to weather-related conditions.
