Welcome Back! – ¡Bienvenidos nuevamente! – Bienvenue !

PGCPS Announcement Banner

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) is excited to welcome students and families back for the 2018-19 academic year on Tuesday, September 4! During the break, we hope you had many opportunities to spend time with your child and enjoy a fun, safe and relaxing summer.

Over the summer months, staff has been working hard to complete maintenance projects in schools, improve school safety and security, plan bus routes and hire and train new teachers. Educators are eager to share teaching and learning opportunities with students – from the first day of school to the last!

Parents or guardians are welcome to accompany their child to class on the first day of school. As part of our safety efforts, all visitors must sign in and wear a visitor identification sticker for the duration of their visit. Parents should plan to visit no longer than 30 minutes to allow teachers and staff members to proceed with the instructional day.

For updates, sign up to receive e-alerts from PGCPS and follow us on social media (facebook.com/pgcps and/or twitter.com/pgcps).

Let’s have a great school year!

Sincerely,

Monica Goldson, Ed.D.
Interim Chief Executive Officer
