Prince George’s County Announces Office Closures for Labor Day Holiday
The following services and facilities managed by the Department of the Environment (DoE) will be closed or suspended on Monday, September 7, 2015.

| Missouri Avenue Solid Waste Acceptance and Recycling Center | Closed |
| Prince George’s County Yard Waste Composting Facility | Closed |
| Bulky Trash Collection (By appointment only) | No Collection (Collection will resume on Sept. 8, 2015) |
| Trash Collection in County-Contracted Areas | No Collection (Collections will resume on Sept. 8. If Sept. 7 is your regular collection day, your trash will be collected on Sept. 10) |
| Curbside Recycling Collection | No Collection (Collections will resume on Sept. 8. If Sept. 7 is your regular collection day, your recycling will be collected on Sept. 14) |
TheBus, under the administration of the Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T), will not be operational on Monday, September 7, 2015 in observance of Labor Day. In addition, the County’s Call-A-Bus, including senior transportation services, will not be operational on Monday, September 7, 2015. Normal route services will resume on Tuesday, September 8, 2015.
The Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement will also be closed on Monday, September 7, 2015, for the Labor Day holiday. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8, 2015.
In addition, Prince George’s CountyClick 3-1-1 will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2015 and will return to normal operations on Tuesday, September 8, 2015. However, residents can still submit service/issue requests online at www.countyclick311.com/

Prince George’s County Animal Services Facility to Participate in NBC4 “Clear the Shelters” Day
On Saturday, August 15, 2015, the Department of the Environment’s Animal Management Division (AMD) will join NBC4 Washington and hundreds of animal shelters in D.C., Maryland and Virginia for “Clear the Shelters” Day – a pet adoption event. During this special one-day event, pet adoptions are free at the Animal Services Facility.
Expert staff and volunteers will be available to assist potential adopters select the best dog or cat for their family, as well as provide tips for welcoming a new pet into their home. AMD will share live updates with NBC4 on successful adoptions throughout the day and post updates on Facebook and Twitter using #ClearTheShelters.
